The Living Bread: An Ethic of Love – March 14, 2024

Updated onMarch 14, 2024

I am the Bread, living Bread! Who came down out of heaven. Anyone who eats this Bread will live forever! The Bread that I present to the world so that it can eat and live is myself, this flesh-and-blood self.

 John 6:51 MSG

When we think about the finished work of the Cross, it compels us to think about just how much Christ loves us.  So much so, this Living Bread demonstrated a love ethic that is beyond capacity for the human mind to fully contain.  Author M. Scott Peck defines love as “the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth”.

Please join us for our 2024 Lenten Retreat facilitated by Dr. Rev. Lisa Johnson, as we investigate the many ways the Living Bread demonstrates His love ethic for humanity and how we might make a love ethic the core of all our human interaction.

The retreat is 9am – 4pm and the suggested donation is $44 which includes lunch. Payment can be made online when you register via PayPal checkout*, or onsite that day (check, cash, or card).  For more information about the retreat, please contact Dr. Rev. Lisa Johnson at ljohnson@richmondhillva.org.

*We use PayPal to process payments, but you do not need a PayPal account. When directed to PayPal to complete the transaction, scroll down and select “Pay with credit card” instead of logging into PayPal.
