Juneteenth

Updated onMay 28, 2020

What does it mean to be free?

A Zoom panel discussion: 7-8:30 pm, Friday, June 19

In her documentary, Nina Simone defines freedom as the ability to live without fear. Her perspective is as timely as ever as we reel from the recent murder of George Floyd.

Join Richmond Hill on Juneteenth, the date some of the last enslaved people heard they were free from enslavement, to discuss what constitutes true freedom today. The panelists are Janine Bell, founder and president of the Elegba Folklore Society, Anthony Gaboton, Marketing Assistant at Richmond Hill, and Jasmine Leeward, a social justice oriented communications strategist.

All are welcome…
