Honey Extraction: June 4, 2025
“My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.”
Proverbs 24:13-14
We can learn so much from the life of bees. Even this proverb leans into the reality that balancing our busyness and responsibilities with the practice of harvest and enjoyment is wise, restorative, and even liberating. We’ve had the opportunity to harvest about 70lbs of honey this past year from our hives here at Richmond Hill.
You’re invited to share in this harvest and help bottle this honey with us on Wednesday, June 4th from 1:30 to 4:00 in the refectory. Come join the gardeners as we scrape honeycomb, maneuver a hand crank, bottle honey, and fellowship with others in gratitude to the bees and our Creator.
