Art & Spirituality: Stained Glass

Updated onOctober 14, 2013

Stained Glass: May 10, 2014

Saturday 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

We will investigate the history and spirituality of stained glass windows; as an art form, and for their beauty, symbolism, and purpose. For inspiration we will look at the beautiful stained glass windows in the Richmond Hill Chapel. After a brief discussion and meditation around these windows we will create our own version of a stained glass window using art paper, paints, colored pencils or watercolors. Use your sense of color and symbolism to create a work of beauty and praise as you journey in faith.

Brenda Giannini, facilitator, hopes to open us to the sacred dimensions of our lives through the gifts of the visual arts. The Art & Spirituality series endeavors to help you walk closer to God in the present moment by listening to your inner voice and tapping into your creative spirit. We will look at various art forms throughout the year and create our own works of art in the prayerful quiet of Richmond Hill.

Suggested donation $30. includes lunch and art materials. Sign-up: Please contact Deborah Cannady at 804-783-7903 or retreats@richmondhillva.org
