ALP: Back in the Swing of Things!

Updated onNovember 9, 2025

“ It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”…Frederick Douglass

We’re back in the full swing of things! The Armstrong Leadership Program has officially begun for the school year, welcoming new students and mentors. Kudos to First Presbyterian Church for the 40 student hygiene kits filled with detergent, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, body wash, mouthwash, floss, foot spray, lotion, Vaseline, wash clothes, tons of school supplies, and gently used and new clothing to get the students off to a great start. We appreciate this long-standing partnership. A few Thursdays ago, we had the evening of team-building in nature at YWAM (youth with a mission) with Jesse and Bamboo, where we also took time to honor one of our own, Caleb, who passed away on October 2, 2025, by releasing white balloons in his memory, carrying his light and spirit with us as we step into this new school year. A special thank you to the mentors and volunteers who joined us for Chapel and dinner at Richmond Hill, we are looking forward to a wonderful year together. To God be the Glory for our many blessings and opportunities to serve our youth in the city of Richmond.

With deep gratitude,
Ms. Yvette Davis Rajput, Executive Director of Armstrong Leadership Program
