Fundraising as a Spiritual Practice Retreat – February 6-7, 2026

Updated onFebruary 10, 2026

Join us February 6–7, 2026 for Fundraising as a Spiritual Practice, an overnight retreat at Richmond Hill led by Rita Ricks, Rev. Kelsey Hawisher-Faul, and Rev. Lindsey Franklin.

This retreat will ground participants in the spiritual foundations and practical skill-building of fundraising — rooted in the wisdom of Henri Nouwen’s Spirituality of Fundraising.

Designed for stewardship committees, nonprofit board members, clergy who dread “the fundraising part” of their work, and anyone with a dream but unsure how to resource it, retreatants will leave with renewed confidence and clarity.

Come ready to pray, reflect, learn, and discover how fundraising can become a life-giving part of spiritual leadership.

Retreat cost is $150 for the standard rate, $115 for the reduced rate, and $185 for those able to contribute a little extra to support others’ participation.

Retreat Schedule

Shaped by Richmond Hill’s rhythm of life, the retreat weaves together teaching, reflection, and shared practice—including daily prayers at 7:00 a.m., noon, and 5:30 p.m.

  • Friday late afternoon (4-5:30pm): Arrival, welcome, and opening reflection; begin connecting with fellow participants.
  • Evening prayer (5:30pm) and dinner in community.
  • Friday evening session: Introduction to the retreat, facilitators’ stories, and a grounding spiritual practice.
  • Free time for rest and quiet.
  • Saturday morning prayer (7am) followed by breakfast (7:15am).
  • Morning session: What makes fundraising a spiritual practice? Teaching, storytelling, and guided exercises.
  • Noon prayer, Lunch and reflective break with optional activities.
  • Afternoon session: Group sharing and identifying concrete next steps.
  • Closing gratitude practice and departure (4pm).
