Unearthing Buried Stories Update

Updated onFebruary 29, 2024

Thank you to all of you who joined us on December 13, 2023, for the highly anticipated return of the Unearthing Buried Stories exhibit to Richmond Hill! The event was a success, and we hope you will come back to visit the exhibit, and invite friends, family and colleagues. It is available anytime the Richmond Hill office is open.

And, if you missed the event and would like to see the live stream of the evening’s program, check it out here.

Watch the recording of the evening’s program.

It was an evening rich in history, storytelling, teaching and learning as we lifted up the stories of the land on which Richmond Hill sits, hearing from some of the people most intimate with these stories. And, together we imagined the future of this work — as Richmond Hill continues to become a place of sacred memory, racial pilgrimage, and spiritual transformation.

We are thrilled to share that Richmond Hill has received a generous $100,000 two-to-one challenge offered by the Cabell Foundation — specifically for the rehabilitation of the Dwelling of Enslaved Africans. You will hear more about our fundraising campaign in the months ahead and we invite you on the journey to make this vision a reality.
