Health Guidelines

Last reviewed/updated November 23, 2022

We are glad to be open and hosting groups, retreatants, and guests.  We want to do so in as safe and healthy a manner as possible, and protect the most vulnerable in our community. Thus, we ask for your cooperation by adhering to the following guidelines.  Additionally, Richmond Hill complies with all applicable city, state, and federal ordinances.

We have a mask optional policy beginning Tuesday, November 29, 2022.  We continue to monitor public health conditions and COVID-19 levels and will adjust our policy (and this webpage) accordingly if the situation warrants.

Richmond Hill provides hand sanitizer throughout our facility and encourages its use, particularly before meals.

Retreatants must not attend their scheduled retreat if they:

  • have been in close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 within 5 days prior to their retreat
  • have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and have not yet met the public health criteria for ending isolation
  • are experiencing the following symptoms and the symptoms cannot be attributed to non-infectious causes (e.g. allergies, a tough workout at the gym yesterday, caffeine withdrawal): fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea

If a guest or retreatant should develop symptoms or test positive while staying with us, that individual will be asked to leave.  If they have to wait for transportation, they are to isolate in their assigned dorm room.  For those not staying overnight, who need to wait on a ride, we will assign a dorm room for them to isolate until their ride arrives.

It is up to a group’s director to decide if their group will continue to meet or to end and leave.  If the group continues on with their retreat, we require all participants to mask.

If two or more of Richmond Hill’s residents become ill, retreats will need to be canceled and rescheduled.

We encourage groups using our facility to have their own cancellation and refund policy as we are not able to offer refunds to individuals who are unable to attend their scheduled retreat due to illness or other reasons. Please see our reservation policy for how deposits and refunds are handled if an entire group retreat has to cancel.
