Day Retreats

We recognize it is not always possible or even preferable to take a personal overnight retreat in our facilities.  Sometimes what we need most is to give ourselves permission to break from our weekday routine, to be present with other spiritual seekers, and to experience the hospitality and prayer rhythm Richmond Hill provides in order to give our spiritual lives the attention they need and desire.

Below are two regularly scheduled monthly opportunities for individuals to join with experienced facilitators in participating in the daily rhythm of Richmond Hill while allowing space to pursue your own spiritual practices.   Advance registration is required as space is limited.

The suggested donation for any day retreat is $20 (includes lunch). For further information, please contact Mary Lewis (804-783-7903 or

Held the first Friday of each month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., it is a day for quiet reflection and spiritual renewal. Structure and guidance will be provided for those who want it as well as the option for one-on-one spiritual direction.  Or you can simply spend the day in silence — your choice.

Facilitator: Mimi Weaver, spiritual director and life coach. More about Mimi can be found at

Offered on the second Tuesday of each month, arrive at Richmond Hill at 8:45 to begin this spiritual experience. Lunch and chapel are included. Bring your Bible and your journal but leave the cell phone in the car.  The day concludes by 4 p.m.

Facilitator: Rita Ricks, spiritual director and life coach. Find her at

In addition to these opportunities organized by Richmond Hill, you may wish to consider Richmond Hill's facilities for holding your own day (or overnight!) retreat for a group from your church or organization.
