School of Pastoral Care and Counseling

Course Overview
This one-year course is designed to enhance one's skills in ministering to those experiencing emotional, physical or spiritual difficulties and to improve the quality of one's own self-reflection. Journaling, prayer, meditation and Bible reflection are included.

Course Structure:
The class meets Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for three terms of evening classes in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Class meetings begin with community prayer and dinner with the Richmond Hill Community, followed by instructional time and practicum. Students participate in three retreats: opening, individual and closing retreats.

Requirements:
An application to the School of Pastoral Care and Counseling, as well as an interview with the Director, are required for admission into the program.

Staff:
The Director of the program is Alice W. Harris, D. Min. She is a member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and Director of Holistic Pastoral Counseling Services at Richmond Hill.
